Our partner for casting components in Block Mould is  Sylatech from England.

This process is being used for manufacturing of precision and high-quality aluminum and brass copper components according to a unique investment casting technology. (for other materials as stainless steel, low alloy steel, soft magnetic materials etc. we use the conventional precision casting method or MIM - Metal Injection Moulding).

The process can be described as:

​

• Wax models, which are produced according to the 3D model received from the customer, are being placed on a "tree".

• The "tree" is placed in a box which is vacuum filled with plaster.

• then the box is placed in an oven and the wax models are burned away.

• melted material (aluminum or copper) is poured into the box.

• the plaster is being washed away with high pressure water and the parts are ready for secondary operations, if needed.

Why use Block Mould casting process:

• Reduce overall costs by Designing for Manufacture: simplify an assembly by combining a number of parts. Eliminate joining processes. Reduce the part count whilst improving the integrity of the finished product.

• Reduce time to market through use of Rapid Prototyping technology and obtain casting, machining, assembly and packaging from one source. Finished metal parts are deliverable from concept in under four weeks.

• Design flexibility, with possibility for quick tool modifications that is cheaper than high pressure die casting, whilst maintaining economic batch quantities of up to a few thousand parts per annum. High quality finish, detail and specification.
